Department of Physics The beginning of Physics department dates back to 1995 as one of the three departments which was granted affiliation by the University of Kerala. This department was upgraded as a Postgraduate department with the introduction of MSc Physics in 2020 with Electronics as specialization. Now there are 8 facilities in the department. As the Department completes 28 successful years, we strive for quality education and high academic standards. We always aim at equipping students with skills to make them intellectually competent. Some students who studied earlier got higher ranks in BSc Physics in Kerala university. More than 70% students every year after the course go for higher studies in pure Physics, specialised topics in Physics, Management studies etc. A large fraction of BSc passed out students find their places for higher studies in various prestigious institutes/universities all over the world. After the course many students get placed at various leading multinational companies. One student from previous batch got selected for Prime Minister’s Research Fellowships( Topmost fellowship in the research field in India,an amount of Rs 50 Lakhs). Department also conducts several events to foster the intellectual, communication and leadership qualities among the students. The Post Graduate Department of Physics of this college has been attracting great academic attention as one of the best in University of Kerala.
